Kolkata: Youth are the future of our generation. They are filled with enthusiasm, valor, and courage and sports spirit. Fr. Mukul Mondal C.Ss.R, parish priest of Fatima Shrine organized a day of Recollection for the youth of Fatima Parish on 21st May 2017 . The Recollection began from 9am onward & continued till 4pm. Fr. Mourlin S.J. along with the youth of St. Patrick Church, were invited to take sessions & be the part of the recollection.
Fr. Mourlin introduced the youth of St.Patrick’s Church and then the recollection started with praise and worship and adoration. Here we learned about the Bible, the living word of God, about Jesus our Savior, about Moses and many more.
We devoted ourselves in praise & worship to our friend Jesus Christ our saviour. When we praise Jesus, Lucifer the fallen angel gets weaker as once he was an angel and praised Jesus. Two brothers from St. Patrick Church shared their testimonies as how Jesus had performed miracles in their lives. With Jesus we not only develop spirituality but also in all fields of life as education, profession and relationships. Fr. Moulin shared his life experience as how Jesus touched his life. In the Eucharistic celebration we confessed our sins by writing down on a piece of paper and burned it & offered it as burnt offerings to the table of sacrifice. Confession is a beautiful gift & a sacrament given by God to Christians. After confession, all the youths seemed to be enthused with positiveness and the graces received are worth more than any precious jewels of the world. Coincidentally on this very day was Fr. Mourlin’s birthday but still he did not refuse to come to Fatima and impart his knowledge with us. A chocolate cake was cut by Fr. Mourlin and the room reverberated with applause and songs wishing him Happy Birthday. Healthy & delicious foods were served during the lunch. Post lunch, Br. Vicky shared his knowledge about personal relationships, the need of prayers and the importance of reading the Bible & Jesus Christ , Our Redeemer in our life.
As like every good thing needs to come to an end, so our recollection ended, but nothing to make us melancholic as we had learnt a lot about Our Saviour, Jesus Christ. It was altogether a learning oriented session that had embedded a positive energy in the minds of the youth of Fatima Shrine. A day well spent.
